About me

I’m Rory Fischer, a registered psychologist with a special interest in cognition and the brain. My work focuses on cognitive assessment, rehabilitation, brain health and psychological therapy, helping adults understand how their mind is working and what they can do with that understanding.

Qualifications Bachelor of Psychological Science, University of Queensland. Master of Professional Psychology, University of Southern Queensland. Master of Science in Neuropsychology, Maastricht University (the Netherlands).

International experience Clinical and research work across public, private and university settings in Australia, Canada and the Netherlands, which keeps my practice informed by current international research and best practice.

Research Traumatic brain injury, mild cognitive impairment, dementia and healthy brain ageing.

Clinical experience Cognitive assessment and rehabilitation, psychological therapy and brain health support. I have worked with adults with intellectual disability, ADHD and specific learning disorders; brain injury from trauma, stroke or substance use; Parkinson’s disease and dementia (including Alzheimer’s, frontotemporal, Lewy body and vascular); and anxiety, mood and adjustment difficulties.
